Victor Democrats Nominate Two Candidates for Victor Town Council
The Victor Democratic Committee is excited to announce the nominations of Scott Riley and Jen Tipton. The caucus, held on June 26th, determined that these two candidates will bring transparency, balance, accountability and enthusiasm to the town board, which has lacked Democratic representation for over a decade. Appearing on line A on November 4th2025 each candidate is eager to bring a fresh perspective to governance and to actively engage with the community.
Jen Tipton has lived and worked in the Victor-Farmington community for over 20 years. She served 4 years on the Urban Renewal Agency for the Village of Victor and is currently on the Village Planning Board. Additionally, she is the vice chair of the Victor Democratic Committee and a member of the Ontario County Democratic Committee. Having a career in the food service industry is seen as an advantage by Jen, “I feel that the simplified definition of my job is to listen to people’s needs and do my very best to provide them. Public service is not, or should not be, much different. I’d like to lead with empathy not apathy.”. Some of the issues Jen would like to focus on are finding a balance between community and development, stronger public engagement, affordable housing and environmental sustainability for our future.
Scott and his wife Susan moved to Victor four years ago, drawn by previous visits and the small town feel of Victor, however, they are not new to the area having lived for decades in Greece, Rochester, Brighton, Charlotte, and Marion where they raised their three daughters. Although retired now, Scott had been employed by Eastman Kodak, Carestream Health in many functionalities, and most recently, by British Standards Institute where he assessed medical equipment manufacturing management systems. He has been a member of the US Coast Guard Auxiliary on Lake Ontario for over forty years. Having lived in both rural and urban communities, Riley looks forward to maintaining the rural character of the Town and small town feel of the Village while ensuring appropriate, equitable fire and EMS protection throughout the Town. Of particular interest to the candidate will be investigations regarding traffic infrastructures and controls throughout Victor to alleviate congestion, improve traffic flow, and add to vehicular and pedestrian safety.
